Agriculture Minister inspects damage in Jawali

The minister inspected the damage in Kotla, Soldha, Niyangal, Trilokpur and Bhali gram panchayats, and heard residents’ grievances. He said the state government stood with the people in this hour of crisis and would ensure timely compensation to all eligible families.
He said, “The teams of the Sub-Divisional Administration, PWD, Jal Shakti and Electricity Departments are working on war footing to reopen roads and restore essential services”.
At Bhali, the minister met families whose houses were damaged and rendered unsafe due to the ongoing four-lane expansion of the highway. He directed the NHAI project director to immediately release compensation to the affected people.
He reiterated that under the leadership of CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, disaster relief and rehabilitation was the government’s top priority. “Every possible step is being taken to restore normalcy in the affected areas,” he said.
Area SDM Narendra Jariyal, PWD Executive Engineer Manohar Lal Sharma, Electricity Board Executive Engineer Vishal Patrawal, NHAI Project Director Vikas Surjewala and local representatives of the ruling Congress party accompanied the minister during his tour of the flood-hit areas.
