The AICC co-incharge for the state, Vidit Chaudhary and Chetan Chauhan, began the process for the reconstitution of the dissolved Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) by holding a meeting with HPCC president Pratibha Singh and other party leaders.

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) officials said the reconstituted HPCC would be in place in the New Year. While talking to the media, Chauhan said energetic and dedicated people would be brought forward in the organisation. “It’s for this reason that the All India Congress Committee has appointed its observers in all districts of the state. They will go to every district and block and take feedback from party leaders and workers,” he said.

State Congress president Pratibha Singh said the AICC had sent its two secretaries to help reconstitute the organisation in the state. “The observers will gather feedback about the potential office-bearers and the report will be sent to high command. Thereafter, the high command will discuss the names with us and then appointments will be made,” she said.

AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge had dissolved the HPPC, including the body of office-bearers up to the district and block level, a fortnight ago.
