Most places in the state received heavy rain today while snowfall started in Narkanda, Kharapathar, Chopal in upper Shimla towards the evening. Due to the snowfall, the National Highway-5 was blocked at Narkanda. Around four inches of snow was reported at Kharapathar. The snowfall was likely to continue through the night.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
