All educational institutions in Solan, Sirmaur districts to remain closed on Monday

All private and government educational institutions in Solan and Sirmaur districts will remain closed on Monday, September 1, following a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in the region.

All anganwadis and vocational institutes will also remain closed, as per the orders issued by the Deputy Commissioners of Solan and Sirmaur districts invoking Sections 30  and 34(M) of the Disaster Management Act.

Since the continuous rain lashing the two districts has been causing landslides and disruption to life, it can compromise the safety of students in the rural and hilly areas, the orders said.

While classes will remain suspended, teaching and administrative staff have been asked to report to their respective institutions and perform their duties as required.
