Sainik School Sujanpur Tira emerged as the champion of the All India Sainik Schools Hockey Tournament–2025 (Group A), securing two championship titles as the tournament concluded at Sujanpur today.

The host school triumphed over Sainik School Kapurthala in both categories of the boys’ section—winning the U-17 final with a narrow 1-0 scoreline and the U-15 final in a thrilling 5-4 finish. In the U-17 girls’ category, Kapurthala defeated Sainik School Kunjpura 1-0 to lift the trophy.

Individual brilliance was also recognized during the tournament. In the U-15 boys’ section, Cadet Shyam Kumar of Sujanpur Tira was named Best Player, while teammate Cadet Mokshit earned the Best Goalkeeper title. For the U-17 boys, Cadet Kunal from Kapurthala was adjudged Best Player, and Cadet Ankur Dhadwal of Sujanpur Tira received the Best Goalkeeper award. In the girls’ category, Cadet Yuvika of Kapurthala was named Best Player, while Cadet Anushka of Kunjpura was declared Best Goalkeeper.

Captain Ranjit Singh Rana, MLA of Sujanpur, felicitated the winners with trophies, medals, and certificates. He lauded the Sainik Schools for nurturing discipline and holistic development in students.

Principal Group Captain Rachna Joshi expressed her gratitude to all participating schools for their spirited involvement. This marked the first time Sujanpur Tira hosted the national-level tournament, featuring teams from Nagrota, Kapurthala, Kunjpura, Woods Park Hamirpur and the host school.
