Mandi, June 15

A tourist from Ambala and a local pilot were killed when a paraglider crashed after the take off at Faliyan under Patlikuhal police station in Kullu district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Aditya Sharma (20), a resident of Ashoka Naggar in Ambala Cantt, and pilot Krishan Gopal, a native of Bhatkaral village in Kullu district.

According to police, soon after the take off the paraglider crashed, resulting in fatal injuries to the duo.

They were rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to their injuries on the way.

Kullu SP Gurdev Chand Sharma said the cause of accident is yet to be ascertained. After conducting the postmortem, the bodies will be handed over to respective families for last rites.

The SP added that a case has been registered and investigation was underway to ascertain the actual cause of this incident.
