Amit Sood is Kullu BJP prez

Former BJP state media co-in-charge Amit Sood was named the new district president of the Kullu BJP during a meeting chaired by BJP state vice-president and Kullu election in-charge Payal Vaidya at Dev Sadan here on Sunday.

The newly appointed president has previously held various posts in the party.

Addressing Kullu party workers, he said strengthening the organisation in the district would be his priority. New and old party workers would be given due preference in the organisation, he added.

Sood said, in the upcoming Assembly elections, BJP candidates would win from all four Assembly constituencies of the district.

He thanked BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, state president Rajiv Bindal, state vice-president Govind Thakur and the top leadership of the state BJP for making him the district president.

Former state president Maheshwar Singh, Banjar MLA Surender Shourie, Anni MLA Lokender Kumar, outgoing president Arvind Chandel and Narotam Thakur addressed the meeting. A large number of state, district and mandal-level BJP officials were present at the meeting.
