In celebration of the 90th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and as part of the Year of Compassion initiative, the Department of Education of the Tibetan government-in-exile has launched two new children’s video songs during the Ghoton celebration — “His Holiness and His Family” and “May His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Live Long.”

The department also unveiled the first two episodes of an animated film series based on the Dalai Lama’s 10 teachings — Episode One: Saving Lives and Episode Two: Returning Found Items. So far, four animated films have been produced under the educational programme and are now available on the department’s official YouTube channel.

According to the department, these animated films act as engaging educational tools that enrich language skills, cultural understanding and moral development. The initiative underscores the department’s ongoing mission to blend traditional Tibetan values with modern pedagogy, fostering compassion, creativity and holistic growth among children.
