Rampur Subdivisional Magistrate (SDM) Harsh Amrender Singh today chaired a review meeting regarding the preparations for upcoming anti-chitta awareness rallies in Rampur and Nankhari on December 22 and 23. He directed all departments concerned to make the rally impactful and to ensure maximum participation of people.

The SDM said to further strengthen the state government’s resolve of “drug-free Himachal”, anti-chitta awareness rallies are being held across the state. He said after successful organisation at the state, district and subdivisional levels, the campaign is now being implemented in a coordinated manner at the development block level. “This is being done to ensure that every section of society is made aware about the harmful effects of drugs, especially chitta.

The main aim of organising the rallies is to ensure a widespread awareness against chitta among people by connecting students, youth, women groups, social organisations and local communities,” he said. The SDM directed the officials concerned to ensure timely arrangements related to the rally route, security, traffic control, first-aid, availability of drinking water and other necessary arrangements.
