Anurag Thakur, Union Minister for Sports and Information and Broadcasting, today virtually inaugurated a rural livelihood summit being organised by the Act to Transform Foundation, an NGO, at Sujanpur.

He said the rural livelihood mission was started to address the needs of rural people, especially the poor. This would help in empowering women in the area. He added that women could get employment in their areas and take up self-employment for improving the economy of their families.

DC Dev Shweta Banik said members of panchayati raj institutions and women members of self-help groups should make people aware of the programme.

Experts had been invited to help them learn how to increase their income while working from home.
