Arki school triumphs at APS-Dagshai heritage quiz

Lakshay Public School, Arki, emerged victorious at the recently held RK Thakur Memorial Inter-School Heritage Quiz Competition, hosted by Army Public School (APS), Dagshai. The event, held in memory of late RK Thakur, a revered academician who served APS Dagshai with distinction for 34 years, brought together 15 schools from across the region.

The competition aimed to celebrate India’s rich cultural and historical heritage while honouring the unparalleled legacy of RK Thakur. The quiz featured eight meticulously curated rounds that tested the students’ knowledge, analytical thinking and historical awareness. Among the most engaging segments were ‘Legacy Connect,’ which bridged ancient history with contemporary relevance and ‘Timeline Twist,’ where participants had to correctly arrange historical events in chronological order. Other rounds such as audio-visual, buzzer, picture identification and thematic quizzes added variety and challenge to the contest.

Renowned quizmaster Ravi Sharma conducted the event, captivating both participants and the audience with his signature wit, engaging style and deep knowledge. His presence added a vibrant energy to the competition, making it an enjoyable learning experience for all.

In a thrilling finish, Lakshay Public School, Arki, claimed the top spot, winning the coveted rolling trophy donated by the APS Dagshai Batch of 1999. St Luke’s School, Solan, secured second place, while Pine Grove School, Subathu, finished third.

The chief guest for the event was Ramnik Singh Mann, a 1998 alumnus of APS Dagshai and a prominent political and geopolitical analyst. Speaking at the occasion, he commended the school for its initiative in preserving historical awareness among students. Paying tribute to RK Thakur, he described him as a “towering personality” whose dedication and contributions to the school community remain unmatched.

The event also saw the gracious presence of Indu Thakur, wife of the late RK Thakur, who attended as the guest of honour and presented the winning trophy to the champions.
