As many as 197 roads, including two national highways, are currently shut due to precipitation across the state over the last few days. Besides this, 211 electricity distribution transformers and 143 water supply schemes have been disrupted by heavy rains.

As many as 66 are obstructed in Shimla district, followed by 58 in Sirmaur and 33 in Mandi district. NH 5 is blocked at multiple points, including at the landslide- prone Nigulsari area in Kinnaur. NH 305 is also blocked at multiple points in Kullu district. Yellow alert has been issued till August 18 for heavy rain at isolated places across the state. The state has received light to moderate rain at most places and heavy rain at isolated places. —TNS
