An exhibition of handicraft products was organised at Champa Park in Bilaspur under the aegis of Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana of National Urban Livelihood Mission yesterday. Bilaspur Deputy Commissioner Abid Hussain inaugurated the exhibition, which witnessed the participation of several artisans of the district.

The DC said the products made by local artisans reflected the traditional culture of the district.

He urged people to purchase as many products as possible to encourage traditional art and culture.

The exhibition featured a variety of products — including pickles, chutneys, jams, sweet dishes, papads, high-quality corn flour, rice flour, popcorn, candy, salt, anardana, local spices, handmade sweaters, cushions, table mats, diwans and various traditional garments, woollen clothes, Diwali decorative items and products made from waste material. A traditional food corner was set up at the exhibition, which offered fast food items such as kachoris, siddu, momos, chowmein, curry, rice, corn roti, tea and local delicacies. Municipal Council President Kamal Gautam was among those present at the exhibition.
