Artists transform Dharamsala with vibrant wall murals

Under the Reimagine Art of Dharamsala campaign by the Municipal Corporation, artists from across India have gathered to add artistic charm to the city’s architecture.

Artists including Falak Chauhan, Shivanya, Sharwaree Khare, Aditya Dabke, Gautam, Akshit Kumar, Mehak Madaan, and Sakshi Tripathi have arrived from Nagpur, Rajasthan, UP, Dehradun, Delhi, and Himachal to paint murals on the walls along Dharamsala’s main roads.

Dharamsala MC Commissioner Zafar Iqbal highlighted that this initiative, a first for Himachal, provides artists with city walls as a canvas, transforming public spaces into vibrant art displays. He urged hoteliers and stakeholders to support the project, emphasizing its potential to boost tourism and enhance the city’s visual appeal.

The artists are enthusiastic about the opportunity, seeing it as a platform to showcase their creativity while enriching Dharamsala’s urban landscape. The initiative aims to make the city more attractive for both residents and visitors, turning everyday streets into open-air art galleries.

This creative endeavor is expected to not only beautify the city but also promote art and culture, making Dharamsala a unique destination for art lovers and tourists alike.
