The state Health Department has launched a special campaign of Active Case Finding (ACF) to detect TB patients in Kangra district and ASHA workers have been roped in for the campaign. As per information, the ASHA workers in the ACF campaign have detected TB patients in 32 at-risk populations, and so far, 14,190 persons have been screened.

Kangra Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Rajesh Guleri said the ASHA workers were organising the campaign on a Sunday of every month, adding that the campaign had brought positive results in the ACF. Speaking to The Tribune, Guleri said the Health Department would also involve gram panchayats in the mission of TB-free Himachal Pradesh. He said Nikshay Day would be celebrated at block level in Kangra district on the 24th of every month.
