ASI Ranjana lone from state to get President’s Medal

Ranjana Sharma, an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of the Himachal Pradesh Police, will be awarded President’s Medal for distinguished service on 78th Independence Day tommorow. She is the only police officer from the state to be selected for the award.

Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Sandeep Dhawal, Inspector Nag Dev and Sub Inspector Hem Prakash will also be conferred with the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM).

Besides police personnel, three firemen — Station Fire Officers Mansa Rama and Rajender Kumar and Sub Fire Officer Ashok Kumar — will also be conferred with the MSM award. From Home Guards and civil defence, Senior Platoon Commander Jai Kumar will be felicitated with the MSM award. The PSM is awarded for long and distinguished service while the MSM is awarded for valuable service characterised by resource and devotion to duty. — TNS
