A candidate was caught with a cellphone during the HRTC’s conductor recruitment exam held at Gurukul International Senior Secondary School in Solan today.

School principal and centre in-charge Piyush Garg said his cellphone was taken into possession and a report detailing the incident had been sent to the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Hamirpur.

The candidate was permitted to take the exam. Since a UMC had been slapped against him, his exam would not be valid, said officials.

There were two examination centres at the school where 320 students were supposed to appear for the written exam, but only 196 candidates appeared.
