The Himachal Pradesh Pensioners’ Welfare Association (HPPWA) has expressed displeasure that pension adalats have not been organised regularly at all district headquarters of the state for the past about seven years.

Association spokesperson PC Oberoi said here today that in 2013, a team of officials of the Accountant-General, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla, headed by its Deputy Accountant-General, was organising pension adalats for the state pensioners.

The team had also organised a pension adalat at Chamba with district heads of offices and officials concerned in 2013, Oberoi said.

Oberoi said the team had brought about successful results with regard to the problems being faced by the pensioners. But regrettably, the schedule of conducting regular pension adalats could not be maintained and no adalat had been organised so far, Oberoi lamented. — OC
