The AYUSH Department is set to start a ‘wellness panchkarma’ facility in Ayurvedic hospitals of the state. In the first phase, this facility will be started at the Ayurvedic District Hospital, Shimla, and Ayurvedic College, Paprola.

During a meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti of the Chhota Shimla Ayurvedic District Hospital yesterday, the RKS was given permission to spend Rs 60 lakh and build a reception and a fire exit at the hospital, and carry out repair works.

The meeting was chaired by AYUSH Minister Yadvinder Goma.

The minister said under the Ashwagandha Campaign started in the state by the AYUSH Department, around 80,000 medicinal plants had been distributed.

‘Kwath’ therapy had been started for indoor and outdoor patients in Parola and Shimla, Goma added.

Goma said several demands had been made by the hospital management, and permission to spend the budget on developmental works had been given to the hospital authorities concerned.
