Solan, August 18

The outdoor patient department of the state’s first Covid-19 Ayush hospital kick-started its services at Nahan today. The hospital was inaugurated by Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Rajiv Saizal on August 14.

Deputy Commissioner, Sirmaur, Dr RK Pruthi, said that asymptomatic Covid patients would be treated in this hospital using the Ayush-based systems like ayurveda, yoga, homeopathy, naturopathy, etc. Ayush decoctions would be used to enhance immunity.

He said the ground and first floors of this hospital have been converted into OPDs and wards for 16 patients have been created. Panchkarma, mud therapy, etc., would also be provided to the patients in this hospital.

District ayurveda officer Dr Rajinder Dev Sharma said more than 2,000 people have been given ayurvedic decoctions at Ayush hospital at Nahan as well as in other blocks. Ayush kits have also been distributed among 12,000 people in the district.
