Barsar block-level office for construction workers soon
The Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board will establish a block-level office in the Barsar constituency to ensure registered workers receive benefits under government schemes. This was announced by board chairman Nardev Kanwar during an awareness camp at Bijhri.
Kanwar emphasised the importance of workers in the construction sector registering with the board to access welfare schemes.
He said the board, under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s leadership, was focused on uplifting the weaker sections of society. The board plans to conduct the KYC for all registered workers to efficiently reach beneficiaries.
He further outlined key welfare initiatives introduced by the state government, including a scheme providing Rs 3 lakh for house construction for widows and poor single women. The government has also adopted over 6,000 orphaned children, declaring them “children of the state”.
