BDO caught accepting bribe

The Kangra district Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) today caught Virender Kumar Kaushal, Block Development Officer (BDO), Paragpur in Kangra district red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from a gram panchayat pradhan. He had demanded this bribe amount from Reena Devi, pradhan of Kadoa gram panchayat.

SP, VACB, Balbir Singh said the accused had demanded bribe for releasing a fund of Rs 1.50 lakh.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
