Bharat Darshan special train, which was to begin its journey from Amb-Andaura railway station in Una district on March 16 to major religious destinations of the country, has been cancelled by the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) in view of the precautions being taken to check the spread of coronavirus.

The special train was scheduled to take the passengers to religious destinations, including Baidyanath Jyotiralingya temple in Jharkhand, Gangasagar near Kolkata, Jagannath Puri and Konark Temple in Odisha besides Bodh Gaya in Bihar.

Station Master of the Amb-Andaura station Rakesh Sinha said while the communication regarding cancellation of the special train was received today from the Divisional Railways Office in Ambala, no fresh date for the journey has been received. A sum of Rs 9,450 per passenger has been charged for the 10-day and nine-night tour, which includes stay and food arrangements. — OC
