Leader of the Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri today said the criminal case registered against Congress leader Neeraj Bharti was a case of political victimisation by the government. In a press note issued here, he accused the Jai Ram government of throttling the freedom of speech of people and trying to destroy democracy.

‘Govt unconcerned’

}While people are reeling under a financial crunch due to the coronavirus pandemic, the state government has hiked the registration fee of vehicles. The subsidy on essential goods under the Public Distribution System has been stopped for income tax payers. — Mukesh Agnihotri, Leader of opposition

Agnihotri said the government had created an atmosphere of enmity for its political opponents. The Chief Minister was being fed wrong information by those around him. However, he admitted that Bharti had a different style of writing posts on social media, but to paint him as anti-national and a traitor was not proper.
