Bihar jeweller’s body found in water tank in Nerwa area of Shimla district

A jeweller from Bihar was allegedly murdered in the Nerwa area of Shimla district, police said on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Shiv Shah Soni (55), who was running a jewellery shop in the area. He was living in a rented accommodation.
According to reports, the body was found inside a water tank of his rented accommodation by his neighbours who immediately informed the police.
The police along with a forensic team reached the spot and collected important evidence after recovering the body.
The body was taken to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) for postmortem.
Chopal Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raj Kumar, who was present at the crime scene, said a case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC haD been registered and further investigation was on.
A stone and a knuckle duster were recovered from the spot, the DSP said, adding that the body bore various injury marks.
Further details will be revealed after receiving the postmortem report, he added.
