The BJP leaders objected to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan’s remarks that BJP was quoting wrong figures of 2,500 institutes closed by the Congress government.

“As many as 900 institutions opened by the previous BJP government in the last six months of its tenure had been shut down by the present government”, he told the House.

Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur said the question is not of figures but the fact is that the government closed down institutes, which has been admitted by the minister. Jai Ram said the BJP would also “review all politically motivated decisions” taken by the Congress government after returning to power in the next Assembly elections. “We will do it,” he asserted.

Interrupting Thakur, Chauhan responded sharply, saying, “We are not afraid of your threats.”
