BJP holds training workshop for newly elected office-bearers

A one-day workshop of the BJP state organisation concluded at the party office in Una city today. The meeting was organised to groom the newly elected office-bearers at the mandal, district and state levels.

State BJP in-charge Srikant Sharma, co-incharge Sanjay Tandon, state party president Rajeev Bindal, Rajya Sabha MP and state general secretary Sikandar Kumar, former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur were the keynote speakers at the training workshop.

Naina Devi MLA and state spokesperson Randhir Sharma, while addressing mediapersons, said that the BJP organisational elections for the booth, mandal, district and state bodies had been completed and the workshop was organised to educate and inform the new office-bearers about their assignments and the upcoming programmes of the party in the state and at the national level.

Randhir Sharma said that Anurag welcomed the newly elected office-bearers and wished them success in their assignments. He added that workers were the backbone of the BJP and exhorted them to work diligently for the party.

He said that Bindal, who had been elected the state BJP president for the second consecutive term, presented a report on the activities undertaken by the state organisation during the past two years. He said that Jai Ram’s topic was to speak on the present political scenario in the state.

Sharma said that the Leader of the Opposition stated the panchayati raj and local urban bodies elections were due in a couple of months and the next Assembly elections would also be held under the same elected organisational leadership. He spoke about the ‘Apna Booth Sabse Mazboot’ and ‘Booth Jeeta Chunaav Jeeta’ mantras of the national BJP.

Srikant Sharma spoke about the need for good relations with the public and mediapersons, while Sanjay Tandon’s topic was the importance, role and use of social media for campaigning.

Randhir Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday falls on September 17 and the BJP had decided to observe a ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ from September 17 to October 2 during which a number of activities would be undertaken with public cooperation. For this, he said that a committee had been constituted under the chairmanship of state party general Secretary Sanjeev Katwal to chalk out the road map for the activities.
