Naresh Chauhan, Media Adviser to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, today said that it was unfortunate that the BJP’s sole motive was to indulge in a negative propaganda and mislead people on the financial position of the state.

He said, “We need to prepare a road map for generating resources. Since our loan raising limit has been reduced, GST grant has been stopped and the revenue deficit grant has also declined, we all will have to jointly contribute towards improving the financial health of the state.”

Chauhan accused the BJP of trying to create sensation by claiming that the salaries and pensions of serving and retired employees would de delayed. “No doubt there is a financial crisis but it is totally wrong to say that we are on the verge of bankruptcy,” he added.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
