State BJP president Rajeev Bindal on Thursday said legal experts were examining the disqualification of the six Congress legislators from the Vidhan Sabha.

He said the BJP had not made any efforts to destabilise the Congress government. “The Congress government is falling under its own weight, we have not done anything. A minister in the Sukhu government has hit out at his own government, so what role does the BJP have in these developments,” he said.

He said the Rajya Sabha election in Himachal and the victory of Harsh Mahajan have been big developments in the political history of the state.

He said the Congress government had lost the right to continue in power as it was in minority. “The Sukhu government has been reduced to 34 members in the 68-member House,” he said.

Bindal said the Rajya Sabha election reflected the sentiments of people of Himachal.

He said the 14-month Congress rule had been disgusting and people had suffered. “The Congress came to power on the basis of false guarantees. The government has lost the faith of the people,” he said.
