After dedicating development projects worth Rs 73.43 crore to the people at Nerwa in Shimla district today, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the BJP would never succeed in its ulterior motives of toppling the democratically elected government.
“The nefarious designs of the BJP to topple the government show its hunger for power. But it will never succeed in its motive,” the Chief Minister said. Sukhu said the government and all its MLAs were united and working tirelessly to realise the dream of making Himachal a a self-reliant state. “I have been serving the people of the state for more than 45 years now. I will continue doing it, and will continue to fight for the welfare of people,” he added.
Sukhu made several announcements for Nerwa, which include construction of a multi-storied bus stand, a milk chilling plant, a mini-secretariat, a fire station and starting post-graduate classes in two subjects at Government College, Nerwa. He also announced Rs 10 crore for the construction of indoor sports stadium at Nerwa.
He announced the opening of primary health centres in Dhar-Chandana, Deiya and Nevati and gave assurance to people to provide ultrasound facility in civil hospitals at Chopal and Nerwa. He inaugurated several local roads and laid the foundation stone of a 60-metre long double-lane bridge over Shallu Khad at Neoty on Neoty-Chhawani-Bavi road, the widening and strengthening work of Khirki-Chopal Marg and the upgrade of Deha-Kathori-Pundar-Ghalana road.
Speaking on the occasion, he said his government had fulfilled five guarantees in one year of its tenure despite the challenging financial situation. The rest of the guarantees would be fulfilled in a phased manner. He said as Chopal witnessed heavy losses due to the monsoon rains last year, Rs 15 crore had been spent on the maintenance of roads.
