Body of missing man found in Mahad drain

The body of Yashpal Singh, also known locally as Balkar (45), who had been missing for the past three days from Mahad village in the Jwalamukhi subdivision, was found in a local drain, police officials said on Friday.

His body was discovered in the bushes inside a drain located nearly three kilometres from his residence.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, the report of which is still awaited. Local officers said the exact cause of death would be determined after the postmortem results are received.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
