The body of a 17-year-old boy who reportedly drowned in Kunah khud near Janglu village in the Nadaun subdivision was recovered by police from a deep trench in the stream on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Rohit Kumar, son of Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Bara village located near Kunah khud.

According to reports, Rohit had gone swimming in the stream with his friends but failed to resurface after diving into the deep water. His friends later informed the police about the incident when questioned about his whereabouts. Despite efforts, the body could not be recovered on the same day and the search operation was suspended around 9.30 pm.

Superintendent of Police Bhagat Singh Thakur stated that the search operation resumed early the next morning and the body was retrieved in the morning hours. He confirmed that the body was handed over to the family after a postmortem examination was conducted. A case has been registered and further investigation into the incident is underway.
