The Art, Language and Culture Department set up a ‘Book House’ at the Lata Mangeshkar Arts complex in Una city on Tuesday. It would stock not only books written by authors from the state but also those written by others on the art, language, culture, history and other aspects of Himachal Pradesh.

The books would be available to all, including researchers, for reading as well as purchase. According to an official press note, the objective of setting up the Book House was to lend continuity and strengthen the habit of reading books among the new generation. It would also provide a platform to people to know about the different aspects of life, culture, history and achievements of the residents of the hill state.

The facility would remain open for people from 10 am to 5 pm during working days. The press note stated that the department was making efforts to set up a museum on the campus of the Arts complex.
