Boulders, debris disrupt traffic in Bilaspur

The Kiratpur-Manali four-lane highway was blocked following a massive landslide near Samletu village in Bilaspur district today, leading to long traffic jams. Traffic was diverted via Swarghat onto the old highway route.

The project manager of the highway construction company said that heavy machinery was pressed into service to clear the highway of landslide debris. He added that one lane of the highway would to partially cleared but it was still not advisable to use the affected section for travelling.

Meanwhile, Bilaspur SP Sandeep Dhawan deployed police personnel to streamline traffic on the old route.
