In a vibrant celebration of cultural diplomacy, the Centre for Cultural Tourism at the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) hosted a mesmerising Kazakhstan Dance Concert, showcasing the deepening friendship between India and Kazakhstan. The evening came alive with traditional Kazakh performances and Indian classical dances, captivating the audience and fostering a sense of global unity.

Presiding over the event as chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Prof Sat Prakash Bansal emphasised the timeless value of cultural heritage and India’s global responsibility in preserving it. “India’s civilisation is unique yet universal. From the Vedas to modern science, our knowledge tradition has always reflected inclusivity and wisdom,” he remarked. Prof Bansal invoked the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the world as one family, and encouraged students studying abroad to carry Indian values of peace and harmony with them.

He further revealed CUHP’s active steps toward international academic collaborations, aiming to blend education with cultural consciousness.

The event marked a milestone in the MoU between CUHP and the Central University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, signed last year. According to Prof Sandeep Kulshrestha, Director of the Centre for Cultural Tourism, the partnership has already sparked a vibrant exchange of art and ideas. A visiting team from Almaty performed Indian classical dances including Bharatanatyam, underscoring how Indian culture continues to inspire globally.

With such initiatives, the CUHP is steadily transforming Dharamsala into a rising centre of cultural diplomacy, bridging nations through the universal language of art and tradition.
