“Soon after receiving the information at 11:30 am, a crew of eight fire men was dispatched to the site along with three fire tenders,” informed Santosh Sharma, Commandant, Home Guards, Solan.

He said even though the fire was brought under control after few hours, a fire tender was still stationed there as precaution.

According to the company staff, the fire erupted from a drier. It soon spread to the other areas of the plant and gutted the raw material and machinery on the ground floor.

Since the company has ample exit points, the employees managed to escape the premises in time averting any loss of life. Renovation was underway on the second floor and there was no manufacturing activity there.
