Briefly: Paralympics hero meets CM sukhu

Nishad Kumar, the silver medallist of Paris Paralympics-2024, from Una district called on Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here on Friday. The CM congratulated Nishad Kumar on his achievement and said his success served as an inspiration for the youth of the state. The CM said the state government was providing the best facilities and incentives to the youth to excel in sports . Nishad Kumar secured a silver medal in Tokyo Paralympics 2020, Gold Medal at the Asian Para Games, 2022, held in China and holds the Asian record in high jump.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
