Various organisations and individuals on Wednesday urged people to join a 'Sadbhavna march' on September 27 to restore peace and communal harmony in the state. Claiming that certain forces were stoking the communal tension in the city and the state, the leaders urged the people to join the march in large numbers to send out a strong message to the divisive forces. They said Shimla had never seen such communal tension as people from different religions had been living here peacefully with each other. They added that the attempts to disturb the communal harmony would not only affect one particular community, but also the town and entire state. They said apart from maligning the reputation of Shimla as a peaceful and communally harmonious town, the prevailing tension had hurt business and economy of the state as well. "It's for the right-thinking people now to come out in large numbers and send out a strong message of peace and brotherhood," they added.
