Addressing the committee, Dr Bhardwaj praised the Central Government’s initiatives to revitalise BSNL, particularly the BharatNet project, which aims to deliver high-speed fibre connectivity to every panchayat in Kangra and Chamba. He said this would ensure affordable internet access even in remote rural regions.
He also lauded BSNL’s latest Diwali offering — a Swadeshi 4G plan with unlimited calls, 2GB of daily data, and 100 SMS for just Rs 1 — describing it as “highly attractive and affordable.” Parliament, he noted, had recently commended such consumer-friendly measures.
Dr Bhardwaj commended the leadership of Vipin Kumar Maurya, Senior General Manager of BSNL Dharamshala, expressing confidence telecom services in the region would improve under his guidance.
