A meeting of the District Ayurvedic Hospital’s Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal today.

At the meeting, the committee approved an estimated budget of Rs 74.55 lakh for the financial year 2024-25. Additionally, approximately Rs 37 lakh were allocated for the renovation of the building and other activities.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner emphasised the strengthening of healthcare services at the hospital and urged for additional efforts to provide maximum facilities to the patients. He also directed the health officials to take necessary steps for generating additional revenue.

Responding to the demand raised by committee members to establish a Health and Wellness Centre by the Ayush Department in Chamba city, the DC instructed the department to prepare a work plan.

During the meeting, plans were discussed to install a diesel generator (DG) set for alternative power supply and elevators for the convenience of the patients.

Hospital in-charge Dr Yogesh Jarayal provided information about various facilities available at the hospital and said that during the past year, 53,799 patients were treated by the outpatient department and 6,196 patients were treated by the inpatient department.

Under the Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana and Ayushman Bharat scheme, free of cost treatment was provided to 541 patients. Earlier, District Ayush Officer Dr Kiran briefed about various services available at the institution.

Sarol gram panchayat chief Vijay Kumari, president of Chamba Beopar Mandal Virender Mahajan, Medical Officer Dr Rajendra Thakur, OSD (Education Department) Umakant, Assistant Engineer Deepak Bharadwaj, Dinesh Kumar and others were also present.
