The Himachal Government College Teachers’ Association (HGCTA) has urged the government to regularise the services of teachers appointed through the State Public Service Commission and have completed three years of service on April 1.

The eligible contract college teachers appointed on the recommendation of the State Public Service Commission should be regularised from the due date and not from the date of issuing of notification as the process could be delayed due to the prolonged lockdown, said RL Sharma, president of the union, in a letter to the Education Minister.

These teachers were appointed on the condition that they would be regularised after three years of service, he pleaded.— TNS
