Two members of a family from Farna village near Ranital panchayat in Kangra district were killed when the car they were travelling in rammed into a boulder lying along the Ranital-Bathu national highway yesterday night. Sources said that Tilak Raj along with his family members was returning from a social function in his car.

Ram Chand, brother of Tilak Raj, died on the spot while his mother died at Tanda medical college. The condition of Tilak Raj and his wife was stated to be serious. The boulder that the car hit had fallen on the road following a landslide.

In another incident, a car was hit by a landslide in the Niazpur area, near Nurpur. The car driver was injured seriously and has been referred to Tanda medical college.
