Chamba: The historic Chaughan ground in Chamba will be closed to the public for all activities starting December 1 until further notice. District Magistrate Mukesh Repaswal issued an order, stating that the closure was aimed at maintaining and preserving the Chaugan, a key historical and recreational site. Each winter, the main part of Chaugan, also called Chaugan No. 1, is closed for activities to allow the newly planted Bermuda grass to germinate and ensure the lawn remains green and lush. This maintenance period is essential for the upkeep of the grounds, which otherwise host a variety of events and activities throughout the year.
