Chamba college welcomes freshers with orientation programme

Principal Dr Madan Guleria was the chief guest on the occasion.
Prof Avinash Pal introduced students to the wide range of clubs, societies and organisations active in the college, including NSS, NCC, Rover Rangers, Eco Club, Red Ribbon Club, Space Genesis, Society for Wildlife and Nature, Neo-Botany, Geological Society, Commerce Society, Language Society and Economics Society, among others. He also informed students about the Inter-College Youth Festivals and Sports Competitions organised by Himachal Pradesh University and how to participate in them.
It was followed by an informative presentation by Dr Manesh Verma, who briefed the students about the history, achievements, vision, mission and objectives of the college.
Dr Vijay Rathore provided a detailed overview of the academic bank of credit system and various scholarships, covering eligibility criteria, application processes, incentive amounts and digital platforms such as DigiLocker for managing academic credits.
Prof Sumit addressed the students on topics related to campus cleanliness, plantation drives and environmental awareness. He urged students to contribute to the beautification of the campus, dispose of waste properly and participate in the “Plant a Tree on Your Birthday” initiative.
Dr Tej Singh elaborated on the code of conduct, classroom behaviour, respectful interaction with teachers, the importance of discipline and the positive use of mobile phones.
In his address, the Principal encouraged the students to make the most of their academic journey. “This marks a new chapter in your life,” he said.
