The Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has resumed its Chamba-Doda bus service that was curtailed after a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The bus service that was launched on July 2 was suspended on July 15 and its route cut short following a terrorist attack in Doda.

For the past 10 days, the bus was only operating from Chamba to Langera, a village on the Himachal-J&K border. Now, with the situation stabilising to some extent, the corporation has resumed the bus service till Doda, said HRTC Regional Manager, Chamba, Shugal Singh.

The one-way fare for the journey from Chamba to Doda is Rs 326 per person. The bus departs daily from the district headquarters in Chamba at 6.30 am and reaches Doda at 4.25 pm.

After an overnight halt at Doda, the bus resumes its return journey at 9.30 am, reaching Chamba by 6:30 pm.

The Chamba-Doda bus service was started to facilitate Lord Shiva devotees living in Bhaderwah, who otherwise had to walk to Manimahesh for the annual yatra in August.
