Chamba’s natural beauty takes centre stage at fair

The ‘Chalo Chamba’ campaign left a striking impact at the Global Wildlife and Eco-Tourism Fair, 2025, which was held at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi from October 10 to 12. Organised by Asian Adventure, the two-day event brought together participants from 12 states and 19 countries, renowned for their efforts in wildlife exploration and conservation.

Representing the state’s Chamba district, members of Not on Map and Association for Conservation and Tourism (ACT) showcased the region’s rich biodiversity and eco-tourism potential. Shubham Sharma and Sunil Thakur from Not on Map attended the fair, under the leadership of ACT president Jasoda Chettri. The team highlighted Chamba’s unique natural heritage, including its five wildlife sanctuaries and invited visitors from India and abroad to explore the region’s diverse flora and fauna.

The fair served as a global platform for exchanging knowledge, networking and promoting responsible tourism practices that aligned with wildlife conservation goals. It also facilitated discussions on booking booths for wildlife tourism promotion, trade exhibits and public awareness. Participants engaged with conservationists, entrepreneurs and wildlife enthusiasts, exploring ways to strengthen sustainable travel initiatives.

Not on Map’s co-founder Manuj Sharma and other stakeholders extended gratitude toRaj Basu, India’s Tourism Gandhi, and the ACT for providing them with a national-level platform to represent Chamba.

Terming the participation a milestone, Kumar Anubhav, founder of Not on Map, said: “Our collaboration with the ACT at this fair has been a significant step towards promoting responsible tourism and taking wildlife conservation from Chamba to the global stage.”

Launched by the district administration, in collaboration with Not on Map, the ‘Chalo Chamba’ campaign aims to promote sustainable and responsible tourism that emphasises eco-friendly travel, local livelihood enhancement and environmental conservation, while showcasing the region’s cultural and natural diversity.

The campaign strives to place Chamba on the global tourism map by encouraging visitors to experience its pristine landscapes, wildlife sanctuaries and traditional heritage in an environmentally conscious manner.
