The post will remain active throughout the tourist season, providing vital support to travellers exploring this remote and scenic destination. The decision follows a surge in footfall and concerns over the region’s tough terrain and unpredictable weather conditions.

Superintendent of Police Ilma Afroz underscored the department’s commitment to tourist welfare. “The SCP at Chandratal will ensure security coverage, emergency response, and real-time weather and route updates. This initiative promotes safe and responsible tourism,” she stated.

Manned by trained personnel, the post will assist tourists in emergencies and offer necessary guidance. Visitors are strongly advised to stay in regular contact with the SCP and follow safety advisories during their stay.

In addition to enhancing emergency response times, the SCP will serve as a central coordination hub in case of medical, environmental, or logistical challenges. Tourists are also urged to travel responsibly, keep abreast of changing weather, and carry essential supplies when visiting high-altitude areas.

This proactive initiative reflects the District Police’s efforts to blend tourism development with practical safety measures. The department hopes the SCP will not only offer reassurance to travelers but also foster a culture of preparedness and mutual cooperation.

Visitors are encouraged to cooperate with local authorities and help make Chandratal a safer, cleaner, and more enjoyable destination for everyone.
