As part of the nationwide campaign to check the spread of coronavirus, the Una district administration has ordered closure of all religious places, including the revered Shaktipeeth, Mata Chintpurni shrine.

The gates of the sanctum sanctorum were closed at 12 noon after the orders by Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar became effective. As per the orders, all religious places in the district, including those maintained by the government and those run by private bodies, have been closed for devotees till an indefinite period of time. However, the performing routine rituals at the religious places by priests or caretakers have not been banned.

Chintpurni shrine wore a deserted look as police personnel prevented the entry of devotees in the shrine premises. The main gate of the shrine was also closed. Police personnel have been deployed at all inter-state barriers to prevent devotees coming in trucks and tractor trailers from the neighbouring states to the various religious shrines in the state.
