The Tribune Edu Expo: Two-day event aims at bridging education, employment gaps

Hundreds of students from schools across the region attended the opening day of the Education Expo at Matour in Kangra district on Saturday. Organised by The Tribune Trust and powered by Arni University, the event was aimed at guiding students in making informed career choices through academic counselling, helping them become responsible and successful citizens.

Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani inaugurated Edu Expo 2025 in the presence of NN Vohra, President, The Tribune Trust; Jyoti Malhotra, Editor-in-Chief, The Tribune Group of Newspapers; and Amit Sharma, General Manager. The dignitaries underscored the expo’s role in bridging the gap between academic aspirations and real-world career possibilities.

Addressing the gathering, Dharmani urged students to focus on their career and choose the best academic path for a bright future. He commended The Tribune Trust for organising the expo, stating that such initiatives empowered students to strive for academic excellence and responsible citizenship. Emphasising the importance of lifelong learning, he said, “After achieving academic excellence, you must serve humanity by earning people’s trust and confidence.” The minister also felicitated meritorious students who scored over 90 per cent marks with certificates and gifts.

Dharmani praised The Tribune for its commitment to responsible journalism, calling it a crucial pillar of a progressive society.

Earlier, Sharma welcomed the attendees and highlighted the transformative power of education. “Education is the most powerful tool to change society and school education plays a vital role in shaping careers,” he said.

The expo witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of reputed educational institutions in the district. Students of Classes XI and XII explored diverse courses, placement opportunities and career pathways offered by leading colleges and institutions. The expo provided them with valuable exposure to higher education options. Teachers accompanying the students appreciated the well-structured event and the quality of guidance.

The organisation has successfully conducted education expos in 2019, 2023 and 2024. This year’s edition served as an ideal platform for educational institutions to showcase their offerings and connect with aspiring students.
