The legislator called the latest charges politically motivated and aimed at disturbing communal harmony and defaming him ahead of the coming political season.
The controversy resurfaced after the woman went live on social media, claiming that she and her family faced a threat to their lives from Dr Hans Raj. She alleged that while she lives away from home, her family remains under constant fear. She accused the MLA of threatening her multiple times.
Last year the woman had filed a complaint against Dr Hans Raj, accusing him of sending obscene messages and issuing threats. Later, she withdrew her allegations, saying she had acted under mental stress and someone’s influence at the time.
Meanwhile, the Churah MLA has refuted all the allegations.
Dr Hans Raj said the same girl had earlier lodged a complaint against him and the case was fully investigated and a closure report was filed after nothing was found against him.
The three-time BJP MLA said accusations were deeply painful and “conspiracy to malign my image and incite communal unrest.”
“This is a clear attempt to divide our brotherhood and disturb peace in the area,” he said.
Dr Hans Raj added that he has sought the district administration and the police to conduct a fair inquiry into the matter. I will also be filing a written complaint and a defamation suit against the woman.
Questioning the credibility of the complainant, citing inconsistencies in her lifestyle and financial claims, Dr Hans Raj urged people of Churah to maintain peace and unity.
